Saturday, November 7, 2009 - Sunday, November 8, 2009 Johns Hopkins Breast Cancer Survivor Retreat at Bon Secours Spiritual Center, Marriottsville, MD. This is a 2 day overnight stay for women who have recently completed their treatment in the last year to 18 months. It provides an opportunity to find your new normal, set new life goals, network with others, learn stress management techniques, yoga and other programs. The cost is $49 and includes the entire program, private room with private bath, all meals, free parking. To register contact dstewa24@jhmi.edu

Tuesday, March 16, 2010 - Wednesday, March 17, 2010 Johns Hopkins Patient Advocacy Conference Join Lillie Shockney for a 2 day conference dedicated to various aspects of patient advocacy in the care and treatment of individuals with cancer. Examples of content include: Developing a specific patient bill of rights for the patient population you treat; the role of patient education and navigation across the continuum of care; the role of patient advocacy in the research setting. Saturday, March 27, 2010 - Monday, March 29, 2010 Survivor Retreat- A journey with Nature , Havre de Grace, Maryland The Johns Hopkins Breast Center is pleased to announce their annual spring survivor retreat, A Journey with Nature will be held March 27, 28, 29, 2010* in Havre de Grace, Maryland. This retreat is for breast cancer survivors diagnosed with stage 0, 1, 2, or 3 breast cancer who have completed treatment within past 2 years (except hormonal therapy or Herceptin). The program offers support and information based on survivorship issues. And, it links the therapeutic benefits of nature to healing. Saturday, May 22, 2010 - Sunday, May 23, 2010 Retreat of Courage and Hope for Women Living with Metastatic Breast Cancer This special 2 day overnight stay event is the 3rd time Hopkins has held it and it has been very successful. Location-- Bon Secours Spiritual Center, Marriottsville, MD This program brings together women from across the country who share a common bond-- fighting stage IV breast cancer. The program includes yoga, group discussions, courage collage creation, outside activities, spirituality, journaling, and other offerings. It is free however space is limited. The program is specifically designed for she and her husband to attend together. Location: Bon Secours Spiritual Center, Marriottsville, MD This event brings together couples from all walks of life and geographic locations in the country to come together for 2 full days of networking, special programs for men only and women only, yoga, spirituality, journaling, education, group therapy, massage therapy, and other offerings. This program again this year is made possible by a generous donation from the Salisbury Foundation.
