2006 Ride for Life
The Potomic Valley Dressage Association (PVD) held it's Third Annual Ride for Life, a rated dressage charity show for the John's Hopkins Breast Center on June 3, 2005 at Taylor Made Farms in Mt. Airy, MD. This year's Ride raised a total of nearly $34,000, of which over $30,000 was donated to John's Hopkins Breast Center. More than 71% of that amount came from rider pledges. Additional funds were raised by sponsorships for high score awards, class divisions a show site raffle and a pre-show gala reception, shopping spree and successful silent auction at Everything Equestrian, a prominent local tack shop. Kudos to the brave and selfless competitors, generous donors and sponsers who helped to make this a success. The PVDA hopes to hold a 2 day rates show in 2007 and do even better! The PVDA is the second oldest dressage club in the US. Founded in 1964 in Gaithersburg, MD, PVDA promotes the art and sport of dressage by providing leadership, education, scholorships and competitions.
