| 9/18/2005 | Two questions: I was diagnosed Nov 2004 with stage 3A/grade 3 bc left breast with lymph node involvement. Following lumpectomy had 4 x AC and 4 x taxol plus 33 treatments of radiation. Began arimidex 18 July 2005. About 2 weeks ago began having severe pain (level 7-8 out of 10) in left wrist on daily basis but not constant. Lighter pain (level 4-5) in right wrist. QUESTION 1: Am quite nervous this might indicate bone cancer, or is the pain more likely related to arimidex? QUESTION 2: Should I await my routine oncology follow-up to discuss this? Or try to get in as soon as possible? Thank you. | ||

| 9/18/2005 | for peace of mind call and let your oncologist know. the wrist is an unlikely area of metastasis. bone pain at joint sites has been reported with hormonal therapy. hang in there. | ||
Please note: This service is not intended to provide primary medical advice concerning specific medical care or treatment. Ask an Expert is a free service operated by health care professionals at the Johns Hopkins Avon Foundation Breast Center. Due to the volume of questions and their complexity, there are times when medical oncologists, surgeons, radiation oncologists or oncology nurses are consulted for their input. These individuals volunteer their time for this service and will respond as soon as they are able. Please do not post or send the same question to us in multiple locations or categories.
