Questions about the definition, risks and results of breast biopsy.
|Asked||Publicly Submitted Question|
|8/20/2007||My biopsy showed IDC, grade 2. The tumor is 2.9 cm on US. MRI showed 1.3cm internal mammary node, and I had a fine needle aspiration Friday. I'm scheduled for surgery August 29. My question is: If the internal mammary is positive, is there any reason to do a sentinel node biopsy, or even axillary node resection? Will they remove the node during surgery or leave it alone? Since my tumor is upper outer, does the internal mammary node equal metastasis?|
