Questions about Delayed Breast Reconstruction.
|Asked||Publicly Submitted Question|
|6/15/2010||I had a bilateral mastectomy on 2/09 and decided not to have reconstruction until now! I'm so glad I waited. I went through the initial surgery on 06/01/10 and so far so good - I am happy!! Question, though, I am no longer on antibiotics or pain meds but I still have a slight metalic taste in my mouth - can you tell me what that could be? Also, what are the symptoms of the body rejecting expanders/implants? Thank you so very much for any information!|

|6/15/2010||well congrats to you!! metallic taste is more than likely from the anesthesia that lingers a long time.symptoms to watch for are redness of the chest wall that form an outline where the tissue expander's edge is; fever; swelling. hopefully you will have smooth sailing as the majority of women with tissue expanders/implants do.|
