| 8/26/2010 | I've been cancer-free for 7-1/2 years, but am still afraid that it will reoccur. My cancer was HER-2+++ and ER/PR-, tumor was .7cm. Should I still fear "it" or can I relax now? I'm so fearful that because of the HER-2 factor, that the chances of it recurring are still high. What is your opinion? Thank you. | ||

| 8/26/2010 | so sounds like tumor was a stage 1 breast cancer and though to had unfavorable prognostic factors it was small and you are not quite a few years out and should begin relaxing some. risk of recurrence is highest during the first 2 years. the next milestone is 6 years. so guess what? you have surpassed both of these!! none of us ever are completely dismissing the risk of it returning but as more time passes (I'm at 18 years) you should gain more confidence. be well! | ||
