| 9/30/2010 | it would be difficult to get a genetics counseling appt on such short notice. these appts are usually 2-3 hours in length. see connie ziegfeld when you come to the breast center. she may be able to give you some information as she is part of the genetics team as well as one of our breast center nurses. she can also contact the genetics office to see about getting your an appt in the near future. the genetics doctors will want to have a family tree from you for 3 generations of all of the various types of cancers your family members have had on both mother and father's side. | ||
Please note: This service is not intended to provide primary medical advice concerning specific medical care or treatment. Ask an Expert is a free service operated by health care professionals at the Johns Hopkins Avon Foundation Breast Center. Due to the volume of questions and their complexity, there are times when medical oncologists, surgeons, radiation oncologists or oncology nurses are consulted for their input. These individuals volunteer their time for this service and will respond as soon as they are able. Please do not post or send the same question to us in multiple locations or categories.
