11/24/2010Lilli, I didn't know if this is the correct category for me to submit my question. I asked you a few questions last week and after your help previously, I'm finding myself asking, "What would lilli say?" so here goes. I mentioned to you before that I only have general surgeons available to me at my local cancer clinic. I just received news that I could see a surgical oncologist but not until Dec. 15th for a consult. Do you think that is too long to wait? Do I risk it spreading??

Please note: This service is not intended to provide primary medical advice concerning specific medical care or treatment. Ask an Expert is a free service operated by health care professionals at the Johns Hopkins Avon Foundation Breast Center. Due to the volume of questions and their complexity, there are times when medical oncologists, surgeons, radiation oncologists or oncology nurses are consulted for their input. These individuals volunteer their time for this service and will respond as soon as they are able. Please do not post or send the same question to us in multiple locations or categories.
