| 1/13/2011 | My mother, now age 84, had breast cancer age 72, her sister age 70 had breast cancer.Her new Oncologist tested her for BRAC 1 and BRAC2. What is the incidence of BRAC postive ( 1 and 2) at this age group? we are jewish | ||

| 1/13/2011 | though the incidence is less for women diagnosed age 70 and older, age cannot be looked at in isolation. having a first degree relative is a risk factor, Ashkanazi jewish decent is another risk factor, taking HRT is a risk factor, and the list goes on and one. It's also known that because someone tests negative for BRCA 1 and 2, doesn't totally rule out a genetic cause. its believed there are other breast cancer genes for which there is no blood test for yet. | ||
