| 1/18/2011 | Hi Lilly,How is it determined weather they check for hormone receptors or not?Does it depend on your results and then they check for the hormone receptors?I was recently diagnosed with LCIS after two left breast biopsies and surgery for a lumpectomy with recommendation to go on Tamoxifen or Evista.I have reservations about taking either one of them. There were no hormone receptors checked on me.Should there have been, and if so I am now concerned as what to do.Any advice is appreciated.Thank you so much for this site and your continued help and advice to everything you do. | ||

| 1/18/2011 | hormone receptors are only checked on cells that are breast cancer cells. Though LCIS contains the "C" letter, meaning carcinoma it actually shouldn't because it is not cancer at all but merely a mark for increased risk. so hormone receptors are not be done on LCIS. | ||
