1/18/2011I maybe jumping to conclusions but I need some answers now to help ease my concerns. While doing a test to see if I had any blood clots in my lungs they discovered that I had a size 11mm subpectoral node on the left side. Could this be cancerous? Or, just some infection of some kind?

1/18/2011technically, it could be either, but given you are i assume without symptoms of cancer elsewhere then good chance it is infection/virus related. the radiologist looking at the images should be able to provide some guessimation by the contour of its edges if it looks worrisome or not.

Please note: This service is not intended to provide primary medical advice concerning specific medical care or treatment. Ask an Expert is a free service operated by health care professionals at the Johns Hopkins Avon Foundation Breast Center. Due to the volume of questions and their complexity, there are times when medical oncologists, surgeons, radiation oncologists or oncology nurses are consulted for their input. These individuals volunteer their time for this service and will respond as soon as they are able. Please do not post or send the same question to us in multiple locations or categories.
