| 1/18/2011 | Hi Lilly,I have asked the three previous questions.Thnak you for the info.I have the reservations about taking the Tamoxifen or the Evista. You said previously about talking to a high risk counselor for this.I called my surgeon's office today about talking to someone about my high risks for LCIS. They do not have high risk counselors for LCIS.I have had two breast biopsies and surgery for a Lumpectomy with a follow up with the breast surgeon.Diagnosis is LCIS with recommendation of Evista for five years with follow ups every 6 months. You also stated that a medical oncologist should be the one to prescribe an anti-estrogen. If I call the Avon Breast Care Center at John Hopkins about this, who do I call first? Do I get a second opinion to start from a medical oncologist or see a high risk counselor first? Thank you for all your help with this. | ||

| 1/18/2011 | oh my.... sad that such programs are not in place as they should be. Call tomorrow the oncology referral office at 410-955-8964 and request an appt with a breast medical oncologist who can advise you regarding high risk and that you have LCIS found on pathology. | ||
Please note: This service is not intended to provide primary medical advice concerning specific medical care or treatment. Ask an Expert is a free service operated by health care professionals at the Johns Hopkins Avon Foundation Breast Center. Due to the volume of questions and their complexity, there are times when medical oncologists, surgeons, radiation oncologists or oncology nurses are consulted for their input. These individuals volunteer their time for this service and will respond as soon as they are able. Please do not post or send the same question to us in multiple locations or categories.
