2/22/2011Hello, I am a 25 year old female. My mother had fat tissue deposits removed from her breasts in her mid 40's, but no other family history of breast disease. For the last 4 months, my breats have been swelling to the point that my bras do not fit and the pain is so intense, they burn and throb. Pregnancy is ruled out every time they start to swell, as I also have an IUD. I have had a sonogram, and the radiologist determined that I have nodular, dense breasts. Is it normal for the pain and swelling, or could there be an underlying cause?

2/23/2011when both breasts are doing the same thing, per se, it usually points to hormonal changes being a major contributor. So ask your gynecologist about doing some blood work to see what your hormonal levels are.
