Questions about Mastectomy with Flap Reconstruction.
|Asked||Publicly Submitted Question|
|4/6/2011||I had a diep flap recontruction that was sucessful on the cancer side and failed on the other side. Many tries at implants which failed. ( the skin would open up and had to remove implant. Then tried the lat surgery with an implant and skin still opened up so had to remove again. I have not tried any other reconstruction for the past 4 years but it seems such a shame to go through all of that and still end up with one breast. Is there any hope for me to be whole again? If so what are my choices. Should I try another implant?|

|4/6/2011||I would seek out a highly trained experienced plastic reconstructive surgeon that specializes in breast reconstruction after mastectomy, at a Comprehensive Breast Center. Techniques and implants themselves have certainly changed over the past 4 years.Would you consider a consultation here @ the Johns Hopkins Breast Center with one of our plastic reconstructive surgeons? Call Shelia @ 443-287-BRST (2778). Best wishes!|
