10/4/2011Thank you for turning to the Johns Hopkins Breast Center. Sorry to hear of your mom's diagnosis. She is fortunate to have you as a loving daughter and a fierce advocate! Approx 3 % of all breast cancers are inflammatory breast cancer (IBC). Seek care if possible at either an NCI Designated Breast Center, or a Comprehensive Breast Center in your area. If we can be of help, please call Sheila @ 443-287-BRST (2778) for an appointment here @ Johns Hopkins Breast Center, which we could get your mother seen in the next several days. Hope this helps, and best wishes. Remember, we are only a mouse click or phone call away.

Please note: This service is not intended to provide primary medical advice concerning specific medical care or treatment. Ask an Expert is a free service operated by health care professionals at the Johns Hopkins Avon Foundation Breast Center. Due to the volume of questions and their complexity, there are times when medical oncologists, surgeons, radiation oncologists or oncology nurses are consulted for their input. These individuals volunteer their time for this service and will respond as soon as they are able. Please do not post or send the same question to us in multiple locations or categories.
