10/17/2011I had reconstruction with saline implants and the left implant is too far to the left. My PS has told me she can correct this with more alloderm and a few sutures to hold the implant in place. However, the tissue expander was actually placed too far to the left and she told me she would correct this during the exchange surgery and she did not. How difficult is it to move an implant closer to the center if the "pocket" is not in the right position? Should I seek a second opinion? (It has been 6 months since my exchange surgery.)

Please note: This service is not intended to provide primary medical advice concerning specific medical care or treatment. Ask an Expert is a free service operated by health care professionals at the Johns Hopkins Avon Foundation Breast Center. Due to the volume of questions and their complexity, there are times when medical oncologists, surgeons, radiation oncologists or oncology nurses are consulted for their input. These individuals volunteer their time for this service and will respond as soon as they are able. Please do not post or send the same question to us in multiple locations or categories.
