| 11/14/2011 | I am a very healthy 73 yr old woman. breast ultrasound shows 1.24 cm the lesion is palpable -birad classifaction 5 very scary stuff. biopsy scheduled for 12-02-11.. Dr was very upbeat and positive said if the mass is cancer it is so small he could fix it>> not sure what that means. Is there a chance that this is not cancer ? also It is hard to feel thr lump with self exam.. | ||

| 11/15/2011 | frankly, being scored a bi-rad 5 means that it is cancer. sounds like early stage-- stage 1. VERY treatable. unclear why you have to wait so long for a biopsy though? if you want to come here call sharon at 410-955-7288. | ||

Ask an Expert is a free service operated by health care professionals at the Johns Hopkins Avon Foundation Breast Center.
