12/21/2011I'm half way through my radiation treatment. I am receiving chest wall radiation on the left side with expanders in after a bilateral mastectomy due to having positive margins. Two different types of bolus were used. At first they would tape a gel pad over half of my breast, radiate and then reposition it to the other side of my breast and radiate. Half way through they made a mold of my breast and used that as the bolus stating it was new and it would allow for better coverage. Did I receive the proper radiation?

12/21/2011There are several different techniques that can be used, this being one of them. ask the radiation oncologist to personally review with you how the physicist assisted with the creation of the yield of radiation to include and exclude. this will give you more confidence that you are in good hands.
