Questions about Radiation Therapy.
|Asked||Publicly Submitted Question|
|1/6/2012||Would a two month period ( for breast inserts) between radiation therapy and completing chemo compromise the efficacy and success of the radiation therapy. I complete chemo in early January, and want to have breast implants inserted prior to radiation. However, this ( inserts) would delay radiation therapy by two months. I had a double mastectomy with 1 node microstatic and another isolated tumor cells. I had a full axillary node dissection ( 22 nodes. ) and my tumor was 4.5 cm ilc. I would be on arimedex right after chemo ( is it ok to take arimedex during radiation too?)|

Ask an Expert is a free service operated by health care professionals at the Johns Hopkins Avon Foundation Breast Center. Due to the volume of questions and their complexity, there are times when medical oncologists, surgeons, radiation oncologists or oncology nurses are consulted for their input. These individuals volunteer their time for this service and will respond as soon as they are able. Please do not post or send the same question to us in multiple locations or categories.
