1/20/2012I have been told I have multiple complex cysts - all in the same quadrant of one breast - .7x.5.1.2 cm, .5x.4x.4 cm , .5.x.2x.5 cm. Does having multiple complex cysts imply anything about the chances for them being malignant? Will all have to be biopsied?

1/20/2012it would be doubtful to have implications that these means something worrisome since there are several and close to one another. most are benign. the radiologist determines which ones may be of concern and biopsies those.

Please note: This service is not intended to provide primary medical advice concerning specific medical care or treatment. Ask an Expert is a free service operated by health care professionals at the Johns Hopkins Avon Foundation Breast Center. Due to the volume of questions and their complexity, there are times when medical oncologists, surgeons, radiation oncologists or oncology nurses are consulted for their input. These individuals volunteer their time for this service and will respond as soon as they are able. Please do not post or send the same question to us in multiple locations or categories.
