| 1/22/2012 | Hello: I have 1 medistinal lymph node and spread to bread skin. I have recurrent breast cancer with a 2 cm tumour. It is ER positive, PR positive HER-negative. I am being treated in Toronto with 2.5 mg Letrozole and have been advised that I am stage 4 and not much more info. I can afford a second opinion (within reason). | ||

| 1/22/2012 | you are welcome to come down to us. a second opinion can be quite valuable when facing such a situation. call 410-955-8964 and the oncology referral office will get you scheduled with one of our breast medical oncologists. Whenever there is metastatic disease present, it is important to do a biopsy of that tissue to determine if the prognostic factors (ER, PR and HER2) are the same. In a portion of women they end up being the opposite of what they were in the breast. thought i should mention this important point. | ||
Please note: This service is not intended to provide primary medical advice concerning specific medical care or treatment. Ask an Expert is a free service operated by health care professionals at the Johns Hopkins Avon Foundation Breast Center. Due to the volume of questions and their complexity, there are times when medical oncologists, surgeons, radiation oncologists or oncology nurses are consulted for their input. These individuals volunteer their time for this service and will respond as soon as they are able. Please do not post or send the same question to us in multiple locations or categories.
