| 2/4/2012 | I had read that ILC recurs later - oftentimes greater than 5 yrs due to it's low proliferative index. That being said, are there any ongoing studies to ascertain whether once a person finishes 5 yrs on AI's - whether they should stay on AI's indefinitely or switch to tamoxifen? It would make sense to do these studies. | ||

| 2/4/2012 | Actually, ILC doesn't usually recur. There are studies underway related to AIs however, not specific to ILC but for all types of breast cancer pathology, to determine if a longer period of time is or isn't helpful. What is known is that AIs are highly effective in preventing recurrence and they last for longer than the 5 years they are taken. | ||
