3/4/2012I noticed a black/dark blue spot inside my right nipple 2 days ago. I gently squeezed it and it released a brownish, red fluid. My nipple was tender to touch before and after and ached for several hours yesterday. The spot is back today and seems to be more noticeable when I am sitting down instead of standing. I had my last mammogram done last May 2011, and it was normal. I was told that I had fibrocystic breasts in my 30-40's. I am frightened that this could be serious...Do I go to my GYN for evaluation? Do I need another mammogram??

3/5/2012Thank you for turning to the Johns Hopkins Breast Center. Please don't be frightened but become proactive and contact your GYN for an exam. Another mammogram and ultrasound could be indicated. Hope this helps and best wishes!
