Questions about Neoadjuvant and Adjuvant Chemotherapy.

|5/1/2012||I have had 1 infusion of CT with Neulasta injection. My tumor was small 8cm, margins clean, sentinel node clear and vascular and lymphatic system uneffected. My oncotype dx was 31, thus the chemo. I just can't help in wondering if I really need this chemo.|

|5/1/2012||Am assuming tumor size was 8mm and noy 8cms. That said, the score of 31 is usually a ticket for chemo. Have your oncologist show you the percentage of survival benefit by doing chemo so that you can personally feel confident it is the right thing to do.|
Please note: This service is not intended to provide primary medical advice concerning specific medical care or treatment. Ask an Expert is a free service operated by health care professionals at the Johns Hopkins Avon Foundation Breast Center. Due to the volume of questions and their complexity, there are times when medical oncologists, surgeons, radiation oncologists or oncology nurses are consulted for their input. These individuals volunteer their time for this service and will respond as soon as they are able. Please do not post or send the same question to us in multiple locations or categories.
