| 5/15/2012 | This morning I went for a repeat mammogram and an ultrasound of my left breast. (previous mammo done 03-05-12). I just turned 48 two days ago. The only breast cancer history is my maternal aunt. Anyhow, after both tests the doctor came in and told me that what he is seeing may be a lymph node but is more likely a cyst and that it doesn't appear simple. He told me to wait and come back in for repeat tests...mammo and US in six months. Do you think I should wait that long? | ||

Please note: This service is not intended to provide primary medical advice concerning specific medical care or treatment. Ask an Expert is a free service operated by health care professionals at the Johns Hopkins Avon Foundation Breast Center. Due to the volume of questions and their complexity, there are times when medical oncologists, surgeons, radiation oncologists or oncology nurses are consulted for their input. These individuals volunteer their time for this service and will respond as soon as they are able. Please do not post or send the same question to us in multiple locations or categories.
