5/23/2012I have 5 more weekly taxol treatments at Greenspring station. then Radiation. I'm a grade 2 stage 2a with 2 positive nodes. They did have extranodal extrusions.
Do I need the whole 6 week radiation or can I do the 3 weeks.
I had a lumpectomy as well.

5/24/2012To figure this out really requires a consultation with the radiation oncologist. If anxious about this, there is nothing wrong about going ahead and getting that consultation done now so you have answers. it would be more likely to be the 6 week regimen however. but they know better than anyone as it is their specialty! so call 410-955-8964 to get scheduled with Dr Asrari or Dr Zellars at Greenspring Station.

Please note: This service is not intended to provide primary medical advice concerning specific medical care or treatment. Ask an Expert is a free service operated by health care professionals at the Johns Hopkins Avon Foundation Breast Center. Due to the volume of questions and their complexity, there are times when medical oncologists, surgeons, radiation oncologists or oncology nurses are consulted for their input. These individuals volunteer their time for this service and will respond as soon as they are able. Please do not post or send the same question to us in multiple locations or categories.
