8/6/2012I had a stereotactic breast biopsy on Friday. Today the radiologist called with the result "intraductal papillomatosis and hyperplasia". I had a surgical excision of another atypical area 18 months ago in the same breast, almost the exact same area. The radiologist seemed to think it would be okay to wait another six months and have a follow up mammogram. I'm a little leery of doing that with the past history a year and a half ago. Almost everything I'm reading says surgical excision is, again, the best option.

My previous excision was done by a breast surgical specialist and I have an appointment with her on Wednesday. Thoughts?? Thanks in advance.
