9/7/2016I called the number listed for getting a second opinion from breast surgery. My sister asked me to do this on her behalf, as she is so overwhelmed. When I called that particular number, it was answered by someone who sets up appointments. I asked him how I could set up an appointment for a second opinion via sending records and he gave me a particular number. I dialed it, and got him again! My sister, who lives in SC, had two tumors and when they did the lumpectomy, they found cancer in two nodes and in one of the probes. They went back into surgery a week later and removed more. It has been a week since that second surgery and she meets today with the surgeon to find out whether they got it all. They plan on some type of chemo, followed by six weeks of daily radiation. We are wondering whether she should have a mastectomy instead? Or after sending records, perhaps a long distant consult for all of this? I just wanted to speak with a person, and became frustrated. Thanks
