Welcome to the Johns Hopkins Breast Center at Green Spring Station
A new clinical program is being offered effective February 5, 2008 which is described below:
The Breast Cancer Multidisciplinary Clinic is designed to evaluate patients with known breast cancer. The clinic is committed to a single day comprehensive patient evaluation by surgical oncologists and radiation oncologists incorporating all the resources available for the education, diagnosis, treatment and research of breast cancer by some of the top breast cancer clinicians and specialists in the country.
A diagnosis of breast cancer can be stressful and overwhelming. All members of the Breast Cancer Multidisciplinary Clinic are dedicated to assisting you and your caregivers. If you have any questions regarding breast cancer, you will have an opportunity to discuss these directly with a member of our team.
When this Special Service is Available and what it includes:
The Breast Multidisciplinary Cancer Clinic at Green Spring is held three days a week. Green Spring Station, 10753 Falls Road, Pavilion II, Suite 145, Lutherville, MD 21093. In one day patients will have a comprehensive evaluation by top breast cancer clinicians and specialists in the country.
We are pleased to offer:
- Same day consultation with a Surgical Oncologist & Radiation Oncologist within 48 hours (business days)
- Medical Oncology consultation within 4 weeks (these appointments are scheduled post operatively when full pathology is available for the oncologist to be able to make medical decisions about treatment planning)
- Mammography and Breast ultrasound within 24 hours (provided by American Radiology at Green Spring Station)
- Biopsy and Breast MRI within one week (also provided at American Radiology at Green Spring Station)
- Clinical trials (for surgical oncology, radiation oncology and medical oncology)
- Patient and family education information to prepare a patient for decision making about treatment options and what to expect during each aspect of treatment.
- One on one support for women newly diagnosed with breast cancer by a survivor volunteer and an oncology nurse who is also a survivor.
Patients who are likely to benefit from this multidisciplinary clinic approach are:
Patients with newly diagnosed breast cancer and have had NO treatment for their breast cancer.
